Career development

We do our utmost to create a lasting bond with our employees, while ensuring their career development.

AN EMPLOYEE'S WORD

Thomas S., Site Manager at FAYAT BÂTIMENT Côte d'Azur, tells us more about his career path.

Can you tell us about your career path?
I joined FAYAT BÂTIMENT Côte d'Azur as a mason in 2005, immediately after graduating. Over the years, I've worked on a wide variety of sites, including housing projects, offices, hospitals, colleges and so on. These different experiences have enabled me to gain skills and progress to become team leader, then assistant site manager and today site manager.

How did you get to where you are today?
My motivation, my desire to progress, training and, in particular, internal mentoring. I was accompanied and trained over several years by an experienced Master Journeyman who followed me throughout my career. He taught me how to apply the various techniques, methods and organization adapted to my profession. This internal transmission of knowledge was decisive in my development.

Today, have you become a tutor or trainer in your own right?
Yes, absolutely. Today, I've taken over and I'm cultivating this transmission of knowledge. On a daily basis, I support, train and develop my team, just as they did for me. I also welcome and pass on my knowledge to young trainees. That's part of the job, and it's our role as experienced employees. Every day, I correct, explain and demonstrate - it's become automatic for me... It's in my DNA!
