Milestones in the refurbishment of Colisée 2
Each stage of the refurbishment was aimed at improving the building's quality, technical performance and standards.
- Cleaning
Clearance was the first phase of the work, removing all non-load-bearing elements and waste from the premises. This stage of exposing the building preceded work to reinforce the foundations and this particular concrete and steel structure.
- Foundation and structural reinforcement
To support the new loads associated with the extension, foundation and structural reinforcements were installed. This underpinning ensures the safety and stability of the entire building.
- Creating new verticals
The creation of new vertical spaces, i.e. new ventilation shafts, stairwells and elevators, to meet the growing needs of occupants. These new vertical circulations will improve accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
- Raising the building by 2 extra levels
Raising the building allowed us to increase the usable surface area without encroaching on the surrounding land, thus complying with town planning regulations.
Facade remodelling and extensions: a key aspect of the project
Façade modifications were a key element in the transformation of Colisée 2, making a positive architectural impact by modernizing the visual appearance of the facades. The work also significantly improved the building's energy performance.
- Curtain wall
The installation of a curtain wall on certain parts of the facade has helped to modernize the aesthetics of the building and, above all, to bring natural light into the interior.
- Stone modenature
The use of stone modénature adds an elegant touch to the facades, highlighting reliefs and openings. This architectural element also enhances the building's durability, thanks to its resistance to weathering and thermal shock.
Technical package: façade equipment and architectural trades
To ensure that Colisée 2 functions optimally throughout its lifecycle, a global review of all the technical trades was necessary.
This equipment includes :
- Electrical installations, for high and low voltage, fire safety and security.
- Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, ensuring thermal comfort for occupants and regulating environmental conditions. All controlled by the BMS.
- Optimized wastewater and rainwater management
